Stuart Ranch Colonel King Bed
Stuart Ranch Colonel King Bed
The Stuart Ranch Colonel Bed is named after the legendary cattle rancher Colonel Stuart, known for his rugged and hearty nature. Originally settled by Robert Clay Freeny in 1868, the ranch transitioned to Stuart Ranch after his granddaughter's marriage to Robert Terry Stuart in 1931. Born to ranchers Champ Terry Stuart and Betty Raines, Colonel Stuart was born on January 24, 1880 in Lawrence, Texas. Despite initial aspirations to study law, he ended up in the insurance industry and achieved great success, becoming the president of American Home Life Insurance Company at just 28 years old. In 1931, he married Carrie Ida Freeny and continued building the ranch until his passing in 2001.
